How a Water Level Sensor Works

If you have ever experienced a leaky faucet or if you have noticed that the drain water levels are not where they should be, then you most likely need a water level sensor. This is a simple gadget that can save you from major repair bills, and it will also help prevent water damage to your home.

The basic working of a water level sensor is fairly easy. The set of connected parallel copper conductors, as well as a set of exposed resistance-to-resistance-change resistors, acts as a variable resistive element (like a potentiometer). The change in resistance relates to how far up the drain water level has dropped.

What makes this type of water sensor so important to homeowners is the fact that it helps avoid water damage. If the drain water levels drop too low, and if it is not immediately obvious where the leak is coming from, then there could be serious structural damage to a structure. This is because if the drain pipe was to break or burst, this will leak the water onto the walls, ceiling, floors, carpet, and furniture. If you notice that water is seeping into these areas, you should take action right away so that the damage does not get worse.

However, there are times when a drain line might be a bit low. In this case, there is no problem as long as there is some water left in the pipes. However, if the drain line is totally clogged, and if it is not immediately apparent where the clog is coming from, then this can be a serious safety concern for your family. It can also mean that the home needs some repair work. This is something that you would want to avoid at all costs, and you would be wise to invest in a good water sensor for your home so that you can avoid any possible damages.

If you are not sure whether the drain is completely clogged, you can take the time to use a water hose to fill the basin. If you do this, you should make sure that the hose is not very strong or pointed at the drain line. As this will damage the copper, you can try to gently tap the hose against the wall and gently move it over the walls until it is over the drain line. Once it is over the line, you can check to see if there is any water leaking out of it.

By using this simple water sensor, you can ensure that your home is as safe as it can be, and you can prevent potential water damage to your home. It will help you prevent more water damage to your home and reduce your monthly water bill.
